Funny, Relatable, and Full of Good Reminders

My newest obsession: devotionals. I really can't get enough of these. I have 3 on the go at the moment and every time I see another good cover, YOINK.

It's a good addiction to have, especially when, like this one, they draw you closer to God and keep you grounded.

I picked up Everyday Holy for three reasons:
1. I'm totally a sucker for pretty devotionals.
2. It's been a theme in my life lately to invite God to your daily moments and everyday life.
3. I heard good things about Melanie Shankle.

This devotional has lived up to my expectations. Shankle offers conversational prose and I could tell after reading three entries that she's really funny. I like that kind of relatable tone in a devotional.

The devotionals run 2-3 pages long (a nice bit to digest) and start off with a title and Bible verse. It's a 100-day journey to closeness with God, especially in ordinary, daily life. Topics really are about daily life, from life lessons in Veggie Tales to an orange tree in the backyard. It really does invite God into small moments of life and encourages readers to see Him (and what He is teaching us) everywhere.

Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
