A Beautiful Book to Inspire Unique Parties

Wow. What a pretty, pretty book! Looking at the cover, you just know this book is beautiful. The bright photography and happy font trail through the rest of the hardcover book and make it a lovely, inspiring read. Besides the attractive look of the book, I appreciate the size and weight of the book - this book will be at home with other heavy cookbooks in the kitchen.

I love books like this. Ones to thumb through on a rainy day, giving you ideas and treats to look forward to on a future occasion. Or, if you're a last-minute scrambler, this book will give you plenty of inspiration.

I like the angle of this book as well - unlike some party books that are very specific to regular holidays, the ideas in this book change things up a little. I love that the celebrations are not centered around your typical holidays or birthdays, but are as simple as breakfast in bed or as fun as a milkshake social.

The party ideas and recipes are split by season (spring, summer, fall, winter) and include about three main party ideas and a shorter "breakout" or two. For each party, paragraphs and photos describe "get the look," "the menu," and "enjoy the party!". A seasonal menu and recipes bookend each section.

Some of my favourite party ideas are:

  • Spring: Fairy-Tale Fern White Linen Luncheon
  • Summer: Backyard Movie Night
  • Fall: Pie Party
  • Winter: Gingerbread House Decorating Party

Some of my favourite recipes are:

  • Spring: Lemon Whoopie Pies with Lavender Icing
  • Summer: Peach Caprese Salad
  • Fall: Skillet Cheddar Dill Cornbread
  • Winter: Chicken Pot Pie
In all, this is a great resource, especially if you love flipping through pretty, inspiring books. There are a good variety of recipes; some sweet and savory, mains and desserts, and drinks, too! It also features a presentation page at the beginning and an index at the end (a must-have for recipes!).
